BattleBot Now Online (single player, pausable battles!)
BattleBot Now Online (single player, pausable battles!)
Hi,
We have set live a new BattleBot, so if you:
1, Have been called away from the PC and had lost your game by forfeit
2, Have been sat in the lobby struggling to get a player to battle against
we have solved these with:
1, Battlebot will not force you to foreit the game, you can effectively walk away from the machine, close down your browser, come back in a few hours and just pick up where you left off
2, The Battlebot is available to play 24/7, it never stops, never quits, never tires. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, it just provides violent goodness on demand
The Battlebot (Beta) is running well, kicking butt and available whenever suits you. It is basically a single-player version of the game giving you the ability to abuse it in any way you see fit:
Learn the basics of the game
Test out new deck builds
Play a faster game (battlebots turn only takes a few seconds)
Walk away and come back with no fear of a loss by forfeit
To start the game, just click on the Battlebot button
We think this should be a good all-round solution to the two problems and we hope you enjoy the Battlebot. More features are being added to the Battlebot regularly and varying difficulty/deck builds will be available soon.
Note: The BattleBot awards 10 points for a win and does not effect your Rank score

In other news, we have been working on some mini-games (some battle based and some just fun gambling etc.) and a total overhaul of the lobby, these will be released soon but in the meantime, if you have any suggestions just drop us a note in the forums and we will take a look at them.

Hey,
We have implemented some big changes to the battle game play in an effort to reduce the length of battles.
The changes are in no way set in stone, and we will tweak the game until we find a balance again, but I think overall this will improve your experience of the game.
The changes are outlined as follows:
Attacking creatures/beasts now reduce the opponents capital by an amount relative to their "Dmg" rating as follows:
Dmg: up to 5 = 1 Capital point
Dmg: 6 or 7 = 2 Capital points
Dmg: 8 or 9 = 3 Capital points
Dmg: 10+ = 4 Capital points

Yes, it's been re-coded and re-shuffled. It should be easier to navigate now, and it looks much nicer.
** You now get DOUBLE the points for a win **
A win will no longer net you a measly Capital + 10 points for a win, you now receive Capital + 20
** New Game Mode For Newbies **
Rookie Game Mode. Only new players can create or join a rookie game, to play a rookie game you must have completed less than 10 games (forfeits not included). This has been put in place so new players have the option of playing other new player without the risk of losing points (but you still gain points for a win) by having more experienced players joining their game while they are still getting to grips with the game.
** Graduation Bonus **
Upon completion of 10 games (forfeits not counted) you will receive a Graduation Bonus of 250 points to help you get started playing with the big boys.
** Profile Avatars **
You can now (by Visiting My Stuff - Settings - Profile) upload an image to be displayed on your profile viewable by other players. The image must be no more than 100x100 pixels and 20k in size. Animated GIFs are fine.
** Members List **
A searchable members list is now online in the -Community- section.
** More FREE Points Available **
There are now 3 voting links in the Store - Vote for FREE Points section. Each of these votes can net you 10 points per vote, so 30 free points per day total
Also, referrals (See Store - Referr a friend) now get you 100 points automatically when your friend completes their 3rd game
** Clan Updates **
Your clan leader now has the ability to buy clan cards from the clan store and added to the clan deck, these cards will be used for your clan reinforcements, so be sure to voice your opinions to your clan leader on what to spend your hard earned money on! (10% of winnings is donated to the clan pot, controllable tax and donations are coming soon)
The clan join system has been updated. Potential clan members can view a list of clans and request/cancel applications to clans. Clan leaders can simply view a list of applicants and accept/decline them as they see fit.
Clan Forums - Your clan leader has control of a private clan forum, instructions are in the Announcements section explaining how players and clan leaders can manage these.
** Shoutbox smilies **
Smilies are now available in the shoutbox, :P :) :D :? o_O :( and some more, but I'll let you figure them out.

Subscribers can now be identified by a tag at the beginning of their names Players can now see how many cards their opponent holds while in battle
There have been some massive improvements to the game code which mean the site runs much more efficiently, the dark days of server memory issues are long gone and the site can now handle a greatly increased amount of simultaneous players.
As all that is out of the way, we will have time to finish off more clan features (Adjustable Tax levels, clan wars etc.), implement the buddy messaging system, campaigns and much more.
We look forward to seeing you in game.

We have implemented a new game mode - Rookie.
This is designed to help new players into the game. Players with less than 10 wins can choose to create a Rookie game and this can only be challenged by other players with less than 10 wins.
Rookie games are played with 10 Capital Points, 2-4 Resources per turn, with Capital + 10 points awarded to the winner.

Hey,
Gone is the whole copy/paste link thing to join a clan. A propper clan request system has been coded in. Users, go to the -Join Clan- section and just select the clan you want to join (or more than one if you wish) and the clan leader will be notified of this and will accept/decline your request. If you change your mind, just click on the Cancel button.
Clan leaders, in your -Clan- page, scroll to the bottom, the pending requests section will contain any clan requests you currently have, simply click on accept or decline for each request. Nice and simple.

Automatic referral credits have been activated. For those of you who have referred any players in the past (and those players have played 3 or more games) you have been credited with 100 points per referral.

World Domination Cards will be given to the controlling player of each world at the end of the month.
These unique scenario cards can be used in the player's deck, but are removed if the player loses control of the world at the end of the folllowing month and they cannot be sold.
So up for grabs are seven World Domination cards, so get busy winning those games!

New Month, New Players, New Features (still being added)

Right, a new month is upon us... we have over 300 registered players but we need more active players. We are starting a new paid-ad campaign tomorrow (Monday 30th June) so there should be another influx of players, please try and be as helpful as possible for the newbies so we can increase our player base.
I ask a couple of favours of you:
- Please make sure to vote on both sites in the "Earn Points" section, new month means a ladder reset, we should be able to climb a bit higher this month!!!
- Join the facebook official group Click Here
- Refer as many of your friends as possible, you gain points from doing this and you help spread the word
- Be as active as possible, the less "empty" times there are in the lobby, the less chance of us losing a new player. This game is growing quickly and we didn't expect to have over 300 registered users withing 2 weeks, but it's happened, hopefully we get a greater percentage of active players so there are plenty of people here to welcome the newbies (remember, on entering the site, they aren't usually aware that this is a VERY new game and we are still finding our feet)

- Auto Forfeit has now been implemented. If a player creates or joins a new game whilst already involved a game, they will automatically forfeit that game. This will be an instant action, so no hanging about for 5 minutes while they timeout.
- Defeating an opponent by Timeout without them taking a turn will award the Points as normal, but will no longer award a victory.
- Training Camp, Clan Alliance, Disciples of Khan and Nathrad now provide their bonuses on all turns, as apposed to only the owners turn

Now you can choose your allegiance to one of the seven main
factions, be it the Humans, Reptilians, Night Stalkers, Draga, Keebo,
Felidites or the Daemons of Erebos. You can read about them in the Factions section opposite. Allegiance will grant its own reward.
Further to this, each battle is now opened on one of the seven home worlds; Earth, Slarv, Keb, Draggat, Silath, Felnin or the dreaded Underworld. Each will grant bonuses to your forces if you have allegiance!

Deck Updates
Deck Updates
The Deck settings have been updated to make it easier to create (up to 10), set or delete decks. Unfortunately, because of this we have had to reset all decks to zero, so please re-add your cards.
If you visit the "Settings" link on the left, and hit the "Main" filter at the top, you will be able to view the deck options available.

Yes, no more web forwarding, the domain name now points to the server directly.
Everything seems to be working fine but if you spot any problems that have been generated during the switch (the occasional broken link is possible, but everything should be relative so unlikely) we would appreciate it if you could let us know either by email or on the forums.
It may be best to clear your cache as some of the old links held in your cache will redirect you to the daemorniastudios.co.uk domain. I've left the old site there for now so you can read this news post if this happens but it will be turned off by the end of the day.

Features recently added:
Track users around site to give a better idea of who is active
Forfeit for quitting game or no-response
Lobby: show created game with cancel button
Resign Button
Alert box game notification
In Store - show how many cards of type already owned when purchasing
Shoutbox submit on return
New ranking points system, +1 for a win -1 for a loss
Recent Changes/Fixes:
Regeneration increase by +1 Res after each use.
Players can no longer discard cards in their opponents discard phase
Once an opponent is below zero Cap, the game now closes all buttons at end of turn
New script for 'Action' button (static button to call switch/case php based around active player and current phase - also checking for current Cap values)

To get started, browse the links at the left, have a look at the cards and add the ones you want to use in your deck.
You can sell cards for points (at a loss) and use those points to buy other cards. Once you are happy with your deck, get battling!!!
We hope you enjoy your time testing this game but we also appreciate the time and effort you donate to the testing.
